Service Launching Spring 2027

Helping your dog move comfortably and stay active is an important part of long-term health. Canine rehabilitation services at Twin Willows support dogs recovering from surgery, managing degenerative conditions, and maintaining mobility and comfort over time through an individualized, integrative approach to care.

Canine rehabilitation is not just for athletic or working dogs. It can benefit everyday pets who are experiencing changes in movement, recovery challenges, or age-related mobility concerns. Dr. Molly follows the same integrative philosophy used throughout Twin Willows Integrative Veterinary Practice: individualized treatment, attention to patient comfort, and close collaboration with you and your primary veterinarian.

What is Canine Rehabilitation?

Canine rehab bridges the gap between medical treatments and long-term movement, strength, and comfort. With a focus on helping your pet function more easily in everyday life, rehabilitation may help by:

A dog outline

Improving day-to-day function and overall well-being

Outline of bandages

Aiding recovery after surgery or injury

Supporting long-term mobility and physical health

A dog paw outline

Managing degenerative joint or mobility conditions

Rehabilitation approaches may also benefit cats, depending on the condition and your pet’s comfort level, although the primary focus of this service is canine care.

How Rehabilitation Supports Recovery

During an initial consultation, we will conduct a hands-on physical assessment and review their medical history. If needed, diagnostic testing will be coordinated through your primary veterinarian. Based on these findings, a collaborative rehabilitation plan is developed, including in-home care and ongoing support from you.

As services expand, rehabilitation may be integrated with acupuncture and other integrative therapies when appropriate. As with all of our treatment plans, care options will be adjusted over time based on your pet's response.

Rehabilitation plans are individualized and may include a combination of supportive therapies such as:

  • Manual therapies, including massage, joint mobilization, and guided range-of-motion work
  • Electrical stimulation to support muscle activation and comfort
  • Therapeutic exercises designed to strengthen and stabilize muscles and joints
  • Gait training to help improve walking patterns and coordination
  • Pharmaceutical  and regenerative medicine recommendations, nutraceuticals, Chinese herbal medicine, diet recommendations, etc
  • Pain management strategies tailored to your pet’s needs
