Food therapy is a branch of Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine, using specific foods to calm imbalances in an animal's body through dietary adjustments. At Twin Willows Integrative Veterinary PracticeDr. Molly is Whole Food Formulation certified and has worked for a whole food nutrition company. This allows her to thoughtfully and safely incorporate food therapy into your animal's care. Our goal is to use food as another tool to support balance, recovery, and daily well-being.

Supporting Furry Family Members

Food therapy for dogs and cats often focuses on whole-food nutrition, and may involve a meaningful diet transition. Together, you will discuss whether moving away from highly-processed foods toward whole or human-grade ingredients is realistic for your household. In some cases, this can mean a complete diet change, while in others it may involve gradual adjustments. Dr. Molly can help formulate diet plans for animals and offer recommendations.

Recommendations may also include targeted nutraceuticals and are commonly explored for:

  • Gastrointestinal concerns
  • Skin issues
  • Chronic or autoimmune disease
  • Kidney disease
  • Cancer support and end-of-life comfort
